  • Why Use Choose Carrier oils?

Carrier oils are often plant-based, made from seeds and nuts. Some of the most common include sweet almond, cold-pressed coconut, grapeseed, jojoba, and olive oil + more.

    -Example:  Coconut oil

Coconut oil is an edible oil made from the meat of mature coconuts. It’s available in refined or unrefined varieties.

Unrefined coconut oil comes from fresh coconut meat. It’s not processed with chemicals and retains its coconut aroma and flavor.

Most carrier oils are unscented or lightly scented and don’t interfere with an essential oil’s therapeutic properties. They may be used alone or with other oils to nourish your skin.

(Carrier oils and essential oils are made from plants, yes BUT- Carrier oils are used to dilute essential oils and “carry” them to your skin. That’s because essential oils are potent and can cause irritation when applied directly to your skin.)

    • How They’re Different?

Essential oils are concentrated, potent, and potentially hazardous. That's why they're used in tiny amounts — think a few drops at a time. While some can be applied directly to the skin, many need to be diluted to get the benefits without having a seriously bad reaction!Essential oils are also highly fragrant and have a thin viscosity. Just a dash can turn unscented lotions, soaps, etc. into perfumed perfection. on the other hand, tend to be extremely moisturizing and are tolerable in large amounts. It's common to use carrier oils like coconut oil or grapeseed oil as an alternative to body lotion or to seal in moisturizers. One thing to note about carrier oils is that some are derived from nuts and should be avoided if you have a nut allergy.
